HYANNIS – We’ve been waiting for you. Mark Gianno and Tom Freda opened their Cape Cod office in Hyannis in 1987 to provide, in Tom’s words, “Boston level accounting and tax services to Cape Cod.” Prior to joining forces, Mark and Tom worked in Boston for two of the “Big Eight” international CPA firms. It was there that they learned the importance of “client-first” professional services. Client-first means tailoring our services to your needs. It means a returned phone call. It requires listening to you as you define your goals and concerns. Your goals may be defined by business success. You might be motivated by a desire to help children and grandchildren grow and prosper. You may be driven by community development or charitable intent. Health issues may concern you. You might seek to ensure your financial comfort as you face an uncertain future. In each case, we strive to gain a general understanding of the things in life that are important to you.
The unique beauty of Cape Cod is matched by the distinctive nature of our clientele. Here you will find perhaps the largest concentration of retirees north of the Mason-Dixon line. Naturally, our personal tax and financial planning practices focus on the challenges facing retirees and soon-to-be-retired. Working individually with our retired clients, we help you develop retirement income plans, allocate retirement investments, and plan for long-term care. Of course, our discipline as CPAs means that your plan maintains an eye toward minimizing income and estate taxes, often the single largest drag on your retirement income.
Cape Cod also boasts a strong concentration of closely held businesses born in the community to serve the community. Trained as CPAs, and seasoned business advisors, Mark and Tom have earned the designation “Trusted Business Advisor” to many Cape Cod business owners. Our Hyannis office serves business clients from Falmouth to Provincetown, and every town in between. We work with you from “cradle-to-grave,” assisting you in selecting the right choice of entity for your business, counseling you on “best practices” in your industry, providing you with financial statements, analysis of those statements, and helping to ensure your compliance with tax authorities at every level. We can assist if you seek financing to expand your business. As your business matures, you may face issues related to selling your business or successfully transferring it to the next generation.
Bringing “Boston Professionalism” to Cape Cod also requires constant diligence to stay up-to-date on tax and financial planning developments. Mark and Tom each are required by their CPA license to take 80 hours of continuing education every two years. Mark’s CFP designation requires an additional 30 hours of continuing education every two years. Most of these continuing education credits are earned by participating in state and national conferences with some of the country’s leading experts in tax and financial planning.
Call our Hyannis office and set up a time to come by for a cup of coffee and discuss whether the combination of your needs and our services gives us a basis for working together to our mutual benefit.
